Winter in Seattle

While we were in Seattle we got a little taste of winter by staying a couple of days at Snowqualmie Pass. We took Nixon and Charlie to REI a couple days before to get them all geared up in new snow clothes. Nixon was not happy that he had to wait to where his new boots! He would always ask where his boots were and where Charlie's boots were! We got to the cabin Wednesday night, had dinner, celebrated Lauren's birthday, and played games. Thursday we spent all day in the snow either snowmobiling or sledding. Nixon LOVED LOVED LOVED the snow vroom vrooms!! He fell asleep on the ride back and when he woke up he was NOT happy that the ride was over. He asked to go on them the remainder of our trip in Seattle! We tried to find a good place to go sledding, but by the time we headed out it was getting dark. We ran into some people who told us to walk 150 yards up a trail and we will see where we can sled off to the left. Well, we walked and walked and walked up a hill and couldn't see any sign of a sledding hill. We realized we pretty much walked up a hill and since it was getting dark we gave up on our hiking (I thought I was going to be going into labor at any second!) and we decided to sled down the hill that we walked. It worked perfectly! Nixon had a good time and I am thankful that my little saucer was able to carry me back down the hill! We had a lot of fun at the cabin and look forward to going back again!!

After we got home from playing all day in the snow Nixon had passed out in the car. He usually won't stay asleep when I carry him out of the car, but he was ZONKED! I didn't even take his gear off, and I just laid him on our bed. An hour or so later Conner went in the room for something and panicked because he couldn't see Nixon at first. Then he noticed Nixon shoved in the corner! I couldn't believe he stayed asleep in such an uncomfortable position! It was pretty darn funny knowing our light sleeper of a child!
