Really!?

Nixon and I are a like in several ways..... We are both chickens, he is VERY outgoing just like I was when I was little (too much so), he is stubborn and hard headed, and we are both picky eaters. Our friend, Dave Butler, had just gotten home from a fishing trip in Alaska and had us over for halibut. I don't eat fish (although I tried it that night for the first time). Nixon kept wanting bread (one of the 10 food items that he WILL eat) Dave was brilliant and told Nixon that the halibut pieces were bread. Not sure how Nixon believed him, but he did. He ended up really liking the fish and eating a whole plate full. Go Nixon!! Way to show me up! :)

Ward Roundup

Somehow I got roped into putting on the ward party. I got a call from the RS president inviting me to the ward party...then she said, "well actually...I was wondering if you would put it together with another sister?" ha! Luckily that other sister was my good friend Emily, so we had a lot of fun putting it together. I came up with the idea to do a cowboy theme and it all turned together quite well. The park we had the party at had a huge sandbox, so we did a panning for gold activity and hid a bunch of gold coins and prizes for the kids to find. It was a fun day and turned out pretty well!

Pizza and A Movie

Nixon loves our Friday pizza and a movie night! He truly counts down the days (well, he makes me count on my fingers). It has been a fun new tradition for us!

Talk Like A Pirate Day

I have mentioned before how Nixon has become obsessed with the 'doughnut factory' aka Krispy Kremes. Well, I ran across a blog that mentioned Talk Like A Pirate Day. On this particular day, one of the fun things going on was free doughnuts at Krispy Kremes if you talked like a pirate. I knew we had to take Nixon because not only does he love doughnuts, but he also loves pirates lately. He has been asking to be a pirate for Halloween for the last month! He would always want me to show him pictures of pirate costumes online so he could see what he wanted to be. Well, Conner and I took a trip to costco while Nixon was at the Butler's and found a pirate costume there...so I bought it. However, I was going to hide the costume until Halloween....but then I heard about Talk Like A Pirate Day. If you go dressed like a pirate you get a dozen free doughnuts. I was conflicted. Obviously as yummy as the doughnuts are...I did not care to get a dozen of those sugary demons. I didn't want Nixon to know about his pirate costume because I didn't want there to be any issues of always wanting it before Halloween. In the end we decided to go all out and surprise him with the pirate costume. He was SO SO SO excited! It was worth every bit of it. His two favorite things, doughnuts and pirates! It was a good evening to say the least! When we got back in the car to head home he kept asking if he could go to Halloween now. It was at that moment that I started to dread my decision. Luckily, I have put the costume away and he has not asked for it since!

Go Aggies, Go Aggies, HEY HEY HEY!!!!

We have watched the USU games that we can here in Texas and let me tell you, it makes me miss those Logan days SO SO SO much!!!! Nixon has even asked several times to go back to Logan and will say, "I miss Logan!". When we graduated we were so excited and anxious to move on to the next stage in life (coming to Texas) but now we are sad to see that chapter but to an end!

We didn't go to many games this Fall because Nixon was just a wee little baby! This is the only picture I have!

Comparing N & A

EVERYONE always says how Nixon and Addie look so much alike. I found some pictures of Nixon at 7 months to compare with Addie. What do you think? Look a likes or not so much?!
