Sun Valley

We split up our vacation to be in Utah for half the trip with my family and then journey to Washington to be with my in-laws the second half of our vacation. We first decided to rent a car to drive to Washington. Then we decided to get flights so we booked some through southwest JUST in case we changed our mind, which we ended up doing! My mother-in-law had a great idea for us to meet her in Sun Valley at their condo for a few days and then we will continue our drive to Washington with her. We just had to find a way to Sun Valley....I asked my mom and she was all for it. In fact, as much fun as we all had, I think my mom had the most fun! But let's face it, it was an awesome little getaway and we all had a blast!!!

Park City

When Nixon was Addie's age, my parents rented a condo for us to all stay in Park City for the weekend. We had A LOT of fun!! When we knew we were coming back to Utah for a visit, Conner said he wanted to go up to Park City again. We asked everyone if they were in and we headed up Saturday after my mom and I ran the Timp Half. It was pretty crowded but we made the best of it. For a family who has the stroller and fast passes down in Disneyland, waiting in line is NOT our specialty!! Since Madden, Nash, Mya, and Adelyn couldn't do anything..each of the couples had to take turns to sit out and watch them. However, it worked out great and I feel like we all had a good time and got to do the things we wanted to do multiple times! It was a great day to spend with our family on our last day in Utah. That night we gave hugs and kisses and said our goodbyes...for a LONG 7 months apart from each other! :(

Timp Half Marathon

I needed some motivation to get back into running, so since I knew I was going to be in Utah I signed up for the Mt. Timpanogos Half Marathon. I didn't want to do it alone so I signed my mom up with me! It ended up being a really great race and I was so glad I got to do it with my momma! Our/my goal was to finish no more than 2 hours. Secretly I wanted to beat my mom too... I felt good running wise, but right from the first couple of miles both of my knees really started giving me issues as well as my achilles. I want to figure out running to where it does NOT hurt me everytime!! Still not there yet. I ran with my mom the whole time but around mile 11 or 12 I told her I was starting to feel weak. I slowed down a little but tried to keep her in my sight. We finished at a time I was very pleased with. My mom finished at 1:56:13 and I finished at 1:56:25. I was bummed that I didn't finish with her (or ahead of her! haha) but at least I was close, and still finished! I was in some serious pain and could barely walk to the car after it was over! Let's just say I was in quite a bit of pain the rest of the day, but at the same time I was so happy to have finished the race (even if I didn't accomplish my goal of beating my mom!)
