Easter Egg Hunt

We took Nixon to an Easter Egg hunt in Logan...boy was it a hoot! They had different sections for the different age groups. We walked over and found a good spot where there wasn't hardly anyone standing next to us. We thought we gave Nixon a perfect opportunity to cover a lot of ground and get a lot of eggs! We told him that as soon as the horn goes off then he needs to RUN and pick up the eggs and put them in his basket. He seemed pretty pumped. Conner had the video camera rolling (thank goodness), while I took pictures and chased the kid. The horn went off and Nixon took off for a dead sprint clear across the field, avoiding ALL of the eggs! I tried to yell to stop him to pick up the eggs but by the time I got his attention a lot of the eggs were gone. He picked up a couple of eggs and continued running. While running the two eggs he had fell out of his basket. The hundreds of eggs went QUICK! Soon after, he realized that everyone had a bunch of eggs and the poor kid had zero! He must have thought he was running in a race, that is the only thing I could come up with. It was funny at first, but then it got a little sad seeing him without any eggs! A nice little girl and her daddy noticed my poor child and gave him a few of her eggs. Sweet, huh? He left happy, but man all mighty was it a funny egg hunt!
